This Notice describes the categories of personal information [Nerd Lawyer Entrepreneur Services] ("NLES," "we") collects through our websites, intake forms, and communications, and the purposes for which we use that information. It is provided at or before the point of collection, as required by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA) and equivalent state laws.

Categories of personal information we collect
When you contact us, complete an intake form, or otherwise interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information (as defined under California law):
Identifiers — name, email address, phone number, mailing address
Customer records information (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)) — information about you and your business
Commercial information — information about the legal matter you are inquiring about or engaging us for
Internet or other electronic network activity information — IP address, device information, browser type, pages viewed, interactions with our websites
Geolocation data — approximate location inferred from IP address (we do not collect precise geolocation)
Professional or employment information — your role, employer, and related professional context
Inferences — drawn from the above to understand your needs and personalize our communications
Sensitive personal information
We do not generally seek to collect sensitive personal information through our websites. Some sensitive information may come to us in the course of providing legal services — for example, government identifiers in entity formation matters, or health information in matters involving medical device or biotech clients. We use sensitive personal information only for the legal services for which it was provided and do not use or disclose it for purposes beyond what is permitted by law without your consent.

To operate, secure, and improve our websites and tools
To communicate with you, including marketing communications you have opted in to receive
To comply with our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations (including under the Pennsylvania Rules of Professional Conduct)
To protect our rights and prevent misuse
How we use AI
We use artificial intelligence in our practice, including for intake classification, document drafting, and research. We use AI providers under agreements that prohibit training on our inputs and limit retention of submitted data. Attorneys review legal work product before it is delivered or filed. How long we keep your information
We retain information only as long as needed to fulfill these purposes, comply with our legal and ethical obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention varies by data type — see the Data Retention section of our Privacy Policy for category-specific periods.
Sale or sharing of personal information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the prior 12 months and have no plans to do so.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, port, and limit our use of your personal information. California residents also have the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
